"Concert for Kenya" is a fundraiser to help Grant Olsen and Mike Stankus get to Kenya to volunteer with Flying Kites orphanage for 5 weeks this summer. Performances will consist of Music and Dance. Musical Performers include Ryan hurley, Devon Cormier, Sam Clark, Jacqui Hughes, Owen Murpy, Sarah Thompson, Jeremy Ventura, Grant Olsen, Mike Stankus and more. There will also be dance performances featuring Rose Albert and Mimi Mutoni, as well as Courtney Randall. Admission is 5 dollars at the door.
Flying Kites Leadership Academy is a non-profit organization based out of Newport, Rhode Island. They have taken in 14 orphans from the streets of Kenya and provided them with exemplary care and the resources they need not only to succeed but break the cycle of poverty. Flying Kites has built a small community in the mountains of Njabini, Kenya, with housing and a school that educates 75 children, both those that live at the centre and some from surrounding villages.
